Netherlands considers burqa ban ![]() The burqa, worn here by Afghan women, covers the entire body The Dutch immigration minister says she will look into the legality of banning the burqa, the robes worn by some Muslim women to cover their bodies. Rita Verdonk made the pledge after a majority in parliament said it would support such a ban. The proposal was put forward by independent politician Geert Wilders. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4549730.stm "That women should walk the streets in a totally unrecognisable manner is an insult to everyone who believes in equal rights," he said. "This law is a comfort to moderate Muslims and will contribute to integration in the Netherlands," he added in a statement. His proposal is supported by two of the parties in the governing centre-right coalition, as well as the opposition right-wing party founded by the late Pim Fortuyn. Mrs Verdonk did not say when she might complete her investigation. If the Netherlands does decide to ban the burqa, it will be the first European country to do so.

When
will they relize that the woman in there country wear it out of
choice?!?! Not out of force(like some Taliban brother is gonna beat
them with a stick or something).
Equal rights!?!?! Thats a laugh...Then give her the right to wear it or not, cause men seem to have the right to wear a ski mask in the netherlands when it gets cold. Men in the US can take off there shirts when it gets hot. So where is the equal rights there!?!?! EXACTLY...Stupid Kuffar. I remember an old lady in the market(when I lived in the US) came to me and said:"why does she wear that?" I said:"ask her for yourself, she speaks english." Point is; they seem to have this idea that they are forced even when they have the complete ability to take it off. I just find it funny that no one ever askes the sisters why they were it, they ask there husbands. So who really is making the muslim woman out to be 2cnd class? Me or the people that want me to speak for her when she is perfectly capable of answering on her own?

Moreover, the wording in the article gives it away: Quote:
You are blessed, akhee, to be living in a Muslim country, where at least the populace identifies with Islam, even if it is confused as to what that really means. The Muslims still living in the West, though, are facing greater and greater dangers. They cannot kill our bodies directly, so they will try to kill our Islamic heritage as much as possible through these steps - flattering the so-called moderate Muslims (the "good" Muslims in their eyes) and hoping to integrate the Muslims into their kaafir culture. Even America doesn't have these kinds of problems (yet), amazingly enough. I just wanted to bring that out, akhee, because I didn't want you to forget these issues so quickly...;) Wassalaamu`alaykum

wa 3laykum as salaamu wa ra7matullaahi wa barakaatuh,
I did not know the Afghani burqa was worn in the Netherlands, masha'Allaah. In America, thus far I am the only I have seen in real life - who actually wears it but I hear there are many who do but unfortunately they are scattered about in different places. Anyways, I don't expect America to have their 'freedoms' for very long - That is I do expect after a few more countries give the fitan to sisters - that america will be next, wa allaahu `alam. We can't expect better from them. They are united in their evil and hatred against Islaam and the Muslimeen. |
