If term starts tomorrow, then why are you happy? You got a lot of work to do in very little time if you wanna enroll.

The project Im doing is based around sentiments in this post.

One thing Ill say the american open university is great, but for most people it is way too expensive. Furthermore the islamic curriculum must also fill the student with the zeal to struggle. Our pious predecessors had two things ilm and struggle. For the sisters there is a lot of pious woman, I have been blessed to learn about some of them in my life. Like my grand mother taught me when I was younger.

There are sisters like Dr. Farhat Hashmi, and many more. When the sisters are pious usually they are very very special. Furthermore, it is more important Now for sisters to devote themselves to islamic studies, because the men must devote themselves to the practical implementation of the islamic awakening.

Asalamualaikum

Sorry for taking so long as you might not know much has been going on.

As far as Sheikh Zino I was introduced to him by Bashir Bin Abdul Hamid Al-Ma'sumi Author of A Guide To Islamic Names also teacher at Umm Al Qura Uni.

I was in Ustadh Bashirs house when he asked me if I wanted to go to Sheikh Jamil Zinos house for a visit. I asked: "you mean Sheikh Jamil Zino author of such and such and such and such?" He replied "yes".

So we left out to his simple house mashaAllah. He was very nice to me and never made me feel as if I was lower than him. MashaAllah we met for the whole rest of the week I was there. I got to meet his sons as well as enjoy tea at his house again.

He kept giving me these little cookies.

I had another meeting with him in Dar Al Hadith were he teaches and he once finding out that I want to stay to study decided to write out a full page recomondation to Umm Al Qura so that I could learn Arabic then go on to Islamic studies.

He argued with the president for what seemed an hour about my case( I believe that Sheikh Al Albanis son was in the room as well, who I might add was very nice).

Of course the president of Umm Al Qura refused...(I am married with 2 kids)

So Sheikh Jamil then wrote me another full page letter for Madinah Uni wich was more accepting but they would not accept my fam with me.

The Sheikh was very good with dawa', actualy he was amaizing at it. I remember walking hand and hand with him from Dar Al Hadith to the Haram, he would advise the people so kidly to rush to prayer. After a bit we were walking with so many people.

After making Salah at the Haram we turn around to leave and the Sheikh saw a Turkish man in a wheel chair. The Sheikh in a kind yet sturn manner told him to grow his beard.

Walking me to my hotel the Sheikh saw an older African woman sitting on the ground with her leg exposed. He quikly turned his head in complete and utter fear it seemed and motiond her to cover her leg.

That was a wonderful experience.

As far as Sheikh Saffar he was kind and spoke to me as if I was the only person in the room. I only saw him that once in what I think was an office in his house. I asked him if he could help me with getting in the country to learn and he said he couldn't(he speeks very good english by the way).

None the less he was so kind and had a wonderful warm smile.

He told me that he was sorry he could not help but to go to this man in his office to get something.

I signed a paper (not even knowing what it was) and the man gave me 500.00 Saudi Riyals.

It isn't much but this is my account of my meetings(as short as they were) with these two scholars.

You sisters could be a new a generation of scholars, bringing up your children in the right way with the correct Islam. You could be the key to fighting off ignorance in Muslim communities. But instead, you opt to wasting your time learning things you'll probably never use. And why? It's not like you NEED to work, right? I beseech you to take the more beneficial path.

I miss him... May Allah forgive me, and us, amin.
